These days in class, we've been reading art history and today's lecture was on the Impressionist Movement. I must say that this is probably my favourite period of art. I loved talking about Manet and Pissarro. The art style and form is so breathtaking. The use of the colors and the specific loose brushwork I'm just in love and really pulled in by the paintings. I especially have a special place in my heart for Pierre-Auguste Renoir. Over the summer, I was able to see the special exhibit held at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Learning more about his life, influences, and history even opened up more. Here are some of my favorites:

Lunching of the Boating Party

Moulin de La Galette, Dance at Le Moulin de La Galette

On the Terrace

By the Water
Something about these paintings is so alive :) My appreciation for art grows more everyday, and even makes me want to start painting again hehe
